Rishikesh is a beautiful town in the Northern India. It is located where the Ganges River comes down from the Himalayas. Rishikesh is still known as the World Capital of Yoga. Rishikesh City is also known as the Gateway to the Himalayas. As per sayings, The Char Dham Yatra (Four Shrines Sacred Journey) ideally begins from this place Rishikesh. By Air By Train From Delhi there are number of trains to Haridwar including Shatabadi Express, Jan Shatabdi, AC Special Express, Mussoorie Express. Travel agents located at Swarg Ashram and Lakshman Jhula book train tickets for onward journeys, which is very easier than going to Rishikesh railway station to buy a ticket. However, the ticket can also be got from Raiwala, a small stop between Rishikesh and Haridwar, but this station is very small and the trains only stop here for a few seconds and it is advisable to make arrangements in advance. Rishikesh is around 230 km away from Delhi and is well connected with bus services. A travel by bus take about 5-7 hours. An AC Volvo Bus charge about Rs 200-500.
